Wilhelminia Ripple, CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional), known by all as Willie, is the President and Creative Director of Willie Ripple Events. Willie began her party-planning career when her parents challenged her to plan her own Sweet 16 birthday party. As one of only seven in her industry in Colorado who have attained the designation of CSEP, and the only CSEP in Colorado with her own event-planning company, Willie has earned the reputation as an innovative and masterful event planner. With decades of experience, Willie has perfected the ability to, not only create parties delicately tailored to suit the individual tastes and needs of each client, but she also cultivates experiences worthy of life’s meaningful moments.
Named after her grandmother, who in turn was named after Queen Wilhelminia of the Netherlands, Willie quickly adapted to the idea of royalty and the nobility of planning a great party. Realizing her effectiveness might be limited in the role of princess – which was what her dad always called her – Willie asked her mother, the queen, to step down from the throne. Her mother agreed, and “Party Queen Wilhelminia” was born. The party queen is a ceaseless fountain of creative energy and enjoys sharing her passion for creativity by designing meticulously-planned themed parties and other events.
Willie descends from a long line of hard-working entrepreneurs, which have instilled in her the ability to conceptualize and create one-of-a-kind events uniquely suited to your tastes and budget. Willie’s exceptional communication skills, integrity, and sunny, caring personality will put you at ease, while her attention to detail, knowledge of event-planning trends, ability to negotiate, and capacity to handle operational and logistical specifications will take the worry out of your planning. As a spokesperson and brand ambassador, she builds great relationships along the way and transforms any size party – from trade shows and corporate events, to private parties and weddings – into memories that last a lifetime.
Willie’s distinguished career has recently been recognized in a four-page spread of the July 2015 issue of The Colorado Wedding Magazine. She was nominated for the 2015 Best Wedding International Special Events Society (ISES) Denver Excellence Awards (IDEAs). She was further acclaimed in the spring 2014 issue of Colorado Meetings+Events. Willie also received the 2012 International Special Events Society (ISES) Esprit award for Best ISES Social Event Budget under $75,000 and 2012 IDEAs award for Best Social under $25,000. In addition to being a devoted mother of three, Willie authored the award-winning What Do I Do?® party book series. Willie has been a member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) for six years, serving four years total on the Programs and Education committee – one year as Director of Programs and Education, and most recently ending a one-year term in July of 2015 as VP of Programs and Education. Willie is also an active member of the Christian Meetings & Conventions Association (CMCA) and served as an roundtable speaker for their 2014 CMCA showcase.
Even in her spare time, Willie likes to create, read, learn, and find inspiration. Important to Willie are her faith in God, family, popcorn, and semisweet chocolate chips. She is known as a person who will get the job done with flare. As one client put it, “Willie is amazing! She is professional, timely, creative, easy to work with, and whole-heartedly invested in ensuring your event is a success! She has saved us so much money on our events! … She is a pro negotiator and just thinks of all the details that make the day special while allowing you to sit back, relax and know that everything is under control because she is there” (Julie Rea, Colorado).
